The Glass house part 6 by Ahan Devgun

Aelysthesia and I were in an emerald green forest, where Christopher originally was talking to me before I went to the abandoned playground.

“Ugh.” Christopher woke up and rubbed his eyes.

“Hi Chris.” I said with a smile.

Christopher pointed over to Aelysthesia.

“She’s evil, she knocked me out, she’s probably possessing you to Iris.” Christopher said

“I’m not possessed, Christopher.” I said exasperatedly.

“We’ll see.” Christopher said.

“Annoying person who I knocked out, stay dead.” Aelysthesia said.

Even though Christopher protested, he still lay down.

“Now, Iris, I did some research about where the shadow man and I came to this world.” Aelysthesia put her hands in her pockets nervously, “the glass house.”

“We already know that.” Iris looked exasperated, “what’s your point?”

“If he came through the dark glass, he is already super-powered, which means that he is able to create portals, which means he already can go back!

Suddenly Christopher stood up and said, “shadow!”

Then Christopher and Aelysthesia fell to the floor as if they were hit by an invisible force.

Abruptly, the world went black.

Imagination by Ahan Devgun

In my eyes
There are castles from an unknown land
Angels soaring through the night
Warriors fighting at twilight
Everything has a dark shade to it
But here I am
Watching
Waiting
Wishing
For my time to return
To a beautiful land called
Imagination

A frosty twitterfic by Ahan Devgu

Crack! The crystalline icy branches fall towards me like fall leaves. I step out of reach of these cold frosty hands. Snowflakes still fall.

They took me back to the ruins of Christopher’s house. There was a pile of glass sealed off in caution tape. There was men in blue uniforms everywhere. How could I get in?

“No problem.” Aelysthesia flicked her hand up to the sky and suddenly all of the police officers flew up to the sky and out of our way.

Aelysthesia and I stepped over the caution tape and looked at the glass

“No, no, no.” Aelysthesia freaked out.

“What?” I tilted my head.

“This is dark glass-”

“And?” I asked Aelysthesia to continue.

“Dark glass makes the shadow man stronger. The shadow man is from a race called dark elves. I’m from a race called sylphs. The shadow man and I were enemies. We came to this world when we were fighting. The shadow man has the ability to create portals in our world. He said he wanted to create a portal to go far away. So, we appeared here.” Aelysthesia

“So what should we do now?” I asked.

“We can’t let the shadow man know anything about this.” Aelysthesia responded.

“So, will you help me defeat the shadow man.” I questioned.

“Yes,” the sylph responded.

A Soccer Poem by Daniel Jungwirth

Three...two...one...Wildcats!
You go back to sit on the bench.
How many minutes would you be in this game?
Two?  Three?
Four if you’re lucky.
The ref blows the whistle.
And you practically fall asleep the whole time.

LOSER!  WIMP!

You would like soccer, if not for your teammates
Or lack of skill.

When you wake up, you have a game in the morning
UGH.
You’re only in for three minutes.

After the game, you practice shooting
And get it in one time.
For you, that’s good.

At practice, you get picked last for partners,
‘Cause last one to pick gets loser
That night you cry yourself to sleep.

You’re not on the A team for skill.  It’s because the A team
Didn’t have enough players at tryouts.

After one week without soccer, you have a game on Tuesday.
Your team loses.
And you’re only in for two minutes
Why?

You have one friend on the team.
Well, semi friend.
You ask him to hang out.

He says he’s got other plans.

Last game of the season, coach says.
The Game Of Our Lives!

It’s just a U-11 soccer meet, there are hundreds of them just here in Minnesota
You think,

This time coach puts you in right away.
You get so pumped,
And he takes you out after a minute

It’s the second half.
You’re losing, 1-0

A kid on your team scores a goal,
Putting the game at a tie.
Just one more point.

It’s almost the end.  Seven minutes left.  Six.  Five.
And then,
For real,
Coach puts you back in.

Three minutes left.
You get possession for like five seconds, and lose it.

Two minutes left.
You actually have the ball.  You run up,

One minute left
Dribble past a few players as your teammates
For real,
Cheer you on.
The ball flies off your foot…

Zero minutes left.
Goes past the goalie,

And lands right in the corner of the goal.

Commercial by Jacob Worwa

Unlawful McAwful: (Enters stage left, very disheveled and gesturing wildly) Hi, kids! I’m Unlawful McAwful! Your friendly neighborhood mascot! We are very “healthy” (uses finger quotations) and “good for you” (uses finger quotations again)! We even recycle! Our burgers are made from 100% recycled bottles and stuff that people put in the recycle even though it belongs in the trash! Eat at McAwful’s today! (Exits stage right)

Burger King: (Enters stage right) Are other fast food restaurants making too many commercials with their dumb mascots trying to appeal to little kids and sell their obviously unhealthy food? Well, here at Burger King, we don’t let that happen. Burger King. Have it your way.

Creature by Shireen Dalton

I look at the tiny creature. Its big eyes are focused on me in curiosity. “It’s okay,” I say. “You can come closer.”

Courage by Shireen Dalton

“Courage,” I whisper to myself. “Courage. Courage. Courage.” I slowly walk forward, trying to stiffen my quivering body.

Unimaginable by Shireen Dalton

The doctor stood up. “You are extraordinary,” he said to the boy. “You have the power to do the unimagina-” Suddenly, the whole room shook.

“Jeez, I hate summer,” Shannon complained, wiping her sweat with her arm.

“It’s not that hot,” Lynn responded, pulling her long, dark brown hair into a ponytail. The two girls had decided to go out for a quick walk around their neighborhood to enjoy the warm weather.

“Hey, what’s that over there?” Shannon asked. It wasn’t hard to see what she was talking about. Down the street there was a small crowd of kids surrounding a man on a small platform. He had neat, brown hair and was wearing a white polo shirt with a small logo. He was speaking into a megaphone. As the two girls got closer, they heard some of what he was saying.

“...why, I chose this job because I love space! Just last night I was stargazing with my telescope and saw Orion and Ursa Minor!” the man said, then looked around, “If anyone has other questions, the jar is right down here!”

“What the heck is going on here? Who is this guy?” Shannon asked, frowning.

“Shhhhhh, I’m trying to listen!” a kid sitting in front of her whispered, “and ‘that guy’ is an astronomer, and he’s answering questions about space for a dollar each.”

“So he’s tricking kids into giving him money.”

The kid shook his head. “No! He’s donating it to space companies so that they can make spaceships!” Shannon rolled her eyes and looked back at Lynn. She was watching the man as he talked.

“Thank you for the questions, kiddo!” he was saying, “The sun is the brightest thing in the solar system, followed by the moon, venus, jupiter and mars, in that order. Those are the ones you’ll be able to see. And to answer your second question, if we’re going to live on anywhere else in the solar system, it’ll probably be Jupiter’s moon, Europa. Anyone else?”

Shannon nudged her friend and murmured “He’s scamming them.”

“Figured that out,” Lynn responded, turning her head slightly but keeping her eyes trained on the man.

“I’m going to ask him questions until I can prove that he’s not a real astronomer,” Shannon muttered, stepping forward. Suddenly, Lynn grabbed her by the sleeve.

“No need. He messed up already.”

Where did he go wrong?

Answer: At the beginning, Shannon mentioned that it was summer. The man claimed that he saw the constellation Orion ‘last night’. Orion is a winter constellation and it doesn’t appear in the summer.

“No.” I refused to do any dirty work for the shadow man. I am Iris West, I saved Christopher’s life by catching from falling from the balcony, why am I helping the shadow man? He already made me break my best friend’s house. I would not do any more for him.
“Bad choice, little flower.” The shadow man smirked, “bring out the hostage, Aelysthesia.”
“I don’t work for anyone, barely visible man.” The pale girl  said with a slight british accent, while leaping out from behind a hedge dragging an unconscious body across the ground behind her.

“I’ll let that pass for now,” The shadow man held the body up, “recognize this person, Iris?”

The body was Christopher’s!

“And if you don’t do what we want say goodbye to your precious.” Aelysthesia said mockingly, while she and the shadow man nodded their heads.

“Fine, I’ll build the portal.” I agreed reluctantly.

But once we reach your world, I will defeat you.
